Two million Indigenous children worldwide are in residential schools intentionally designed to destroy their cultures and strip them of their languages, identities, and knowledge systems.
"All they are doing by bringing these children to mainstream is creating a labor force. There was a sustainable family. There was a family which was self-dependent. Now the dependent family through education is being made dependent. Either on the state, either on the market, either on whichever means you can see. The idea of education is as follows: It is to make the tribal people who are self-dependent to be dependent."
